Elizabeth Vadas

Elizabeth B. Vadas, Ph.D. has over 30 years of drug development expertise in the area of oral, aerosol and ophthalmic formulations. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from McGill University in Montreal with specialization in colloid and surface chemistry. She spent 22 years at Merck Frosst Canada where she was Executive Director of Pharmaceutical Research and Development. The department’s responsibilities encompassed early compound characterization, formulation and process development of new chemical entities from phase I through phase III including analytical methods development, stability assessment, preparation of clinical trial materials and technical transfer from research to manufacturing. In mid-2002 Dr. Vadas decided to take early retirement to establish her own consulting company, InSciTech Inc. Currently she works with several drug discovery companies in the US, Canada and in Europe providing development expertise from early to late phase development. Dr. Vadas is a Fellow of AAPS, Past President of the Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences and has been adjunct professor of pharmaceutics at the University of Montreal for several years. She has lectured and published widely and is the recipient of a number of scientific and management awards.
