Andrew S. Janoff

Andrew S. Janoff is a pharmaceutical industry professional with extensive experience in all phases of drug discovery. He has led successful drug development programs involving several novel compounds and innovative delivery technologies. As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Celator, he helped conceive the company’s intellectual property platform and built the operation from a start‐up to a 60 person bicoastal company with research, manufacturing, clinical development, finance, regulatory, commercial, communications and legal functions.

Dr. Janoff was Chief Executive Officer of Celator Pharmaceuticals and its predecessor company, Celator Technologies, from 2002 to 2008. Previously he was a Vice President of Research and Development at Elan Corporation and, prior to that, Vice President and a Scientific Founder of The Liposome Company, Inc. Dr. Janoff is an adjunct professor of pathology, anatomy and cell biology at Thomas Jefferson University Medical College. He is author of more than 160 scientific articles, reviews and patents, and is a past editor of the Journal of Liposome Research. He has served on the Committee on Science and the Arts at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Dr. Janoff received a B.S. in biology from The American University, an M.S. and Ph.D. in biophysics from Michigan State University and was a Research Fellow in Pharmacology at the Harvard Medical School.
