HALIFAX, NS and VANCOUVER, BC—November 22, 2010: Dalhousie University and the Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) today announced that Dalhousie University has signed an affiliation agreement with CDRD that will facilitate seamless collaboration by and between Dalhousie’s academic investigators and the industry experienced drug development professionals at CDRD.
“Dalhousie is recognized as one of the best places to work as a scientific researcher in Canada. Now, as an affiliated institution of the Centre for Drug Research and Development, Dalhousie University, we can augment our strengths so that our world-class researchers can access the full drug-development expertise and infrastructure at CDRD,” said Kevin Dunn, Acting Executive Director of Industry Liaison and Innovation at Dalhousie University.
“We are pleased to be entering into this agreement with Dalhousie University and expanding our reach of projects to include the Maritime region as well. We aim to assist the talented researchers at Dalhousie so that innovative medical therapeutics are commercialized, which will ultimately benefit patients in Canada and across the globe,” said Natalie Dakers, CEO at CDRD.
To help Dalhousie researchers better understand the resources available at CDRD, workshops that are hosted by CDRD’s Project Search Team will be held on November 23rd and 24th.
