Spring is always a good time to begin a garden, and in addition to the freshest, most affordable vegetables you can find your garden can help reduce environmental damage caused by traditional farming methods. Likewise using a compost only for food scraps, grass clippings, plant cuttings, simple paper products, and coffee grinds would greatly reduce the amount of waste coming from your house.
