Graduate Student Interns

Our Graduate Student Interns are provided an exciting opportunity to contribute to and learn about the biotech/life sciences industry and gain new knowledge and skills in aspects of drug discovery and development. Graduate Student Interns will participate on a scientific team that will evaluate projects and provide the critical experience and training related to the commercialization of drug discovery.

We provide an excellent platform for you to further develop skills, be exposed to new ideas and ways of working, interact with professionals with industrial experience, and apply your graduate research training to solve practical drug discovery and development problems.

Work cycles

Graduate Student Intern placements begin with a 4-month contract with an option to extend for an additional 2 months if mutually acceptable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Enrolled in a MSc or PhD degree-granting program in a Canadian university or graduate school at the time of application and during the internship. Completion of the comprehensive examination is preferred, if enrolled in a PhD program
  • In a related scientific or life sciences discipline including biology, molecular biology, life sciences, genetics, medical genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmaceutical sciences, engineering and chemistry (analytical, organic, polymer)
  • Flexible, with a determination to further skills in multiple areas
  • Willing to contribute to and work in a team environment
  • Strong academic performance
  • Track record of achievement and leadership in work and/or extracurricular activities
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Desire for a career in the pharmaceutical industry and/or a strong interest in the field of drug development and commercialization
