Edie Dullaghan

Dr. Dullaghan obtained her PhD in the U.K. at the National Institute for Medical Research, studying the molecular genetics of the SOS response in Mycobacterium tuberculosis the causative agent of TB. Following a post-doctoral position at UBC she took up the role of Pathogenomics Project Leader for Inimex Pharmaceuticals as part of the FPMI project, funded by Genome Canada, led by Dr Bob Hancock. This role led to the development of numerous animal models of infection that furthered understanding of the role of innate immunity in host responses to pathogenic bacteria in the presence and absence of host defense peptides. In 2005 she took on the role of project coordinator for Inimex with respect to an international project funded by FNIH as part of their Grand Challenges in Global Health under Dr Brett Finlay. Most recently Nature Biotechnology published a paper detailing a number of key experiments that were performed by Dr Dullaghan’s in vivo group at Inimex.
