Mr. Alam has 10 years' experience in the biotech and medical device industry, during which time he has worked in several therapeutic areas in the roles of business development and finance. Prior to joining Centre for Drug Research and Development, Mr. Alam held positions in business development at Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, AnorMED, Migenix, and INEX Pharmaceuticals and has successfully completed numerous and varied partnering deals, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing transactions. He has executed extensive business development initiatives in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Mr. Alam’s professional experience also includes roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Chartered Accountants. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, Mr. Alam holds an MBA Degree, specializing in International Business and Strategy, from the University of Victoria, and a bachelor of science degree, specializing in Cell Biology and Genetics, from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Alam is also a member of the Licensing Executives Society.
